MLK - "Rough Places Made Plain"

On Saturday, January 9th, several of our OLPH Middle School students participated in an essay contest titled, "Rough Places Made Plain."  Under the guidance of Mrs. Kelly Anne Broderick (MS Science and Social Studies), students were required to interpret what they thought Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. meant by the phrase "rough places made plain" in his famous "I Have a Dream" speech.  Students presented their esssays at the Imperial Art Centre along with other students from Rocky Mount public schools.

On January 15th, our OLPH participants read their essay submissions to the entire OLPH student body following morning prayer.  We are so proud of their hard work and dedication.  Below are a few photos for you to enjoy!
