Sylvan Heights Bird Park Field Trip 2015

Mrs. Haggerty & her "Carolina Blue" parakeet!

On March 31st, our entire student body spent the day in Scotland Neck at the Sylvan Heights Bird Park.  Sylvan Heights Waterfoul is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire, entertain and educate visitors on the importance of waterfowl, wildlife and wetland conservation.

OLPH students, parents and teachers spent the entire day touring the park and attending planned seminars.  Students found the "Landing Zone" particularly exciting as each was given a seed stick from which to hand feed some of the birds.  It was a beautiful spring day and we all had such fun!  Here are some photos for you to enjoy.
