From the Principal

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic school provides a strong academic Catholic education that is based on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. We welcome students of diverse backgrounds and work in partnership with parents to maximize students’ spiritual and intellectual growth.

January 25, 2012

Dear Parents,

This Sunday we will start off our celebration of Catholic Schools Week by hosting the Faith Formation families at a breakfast at 9am. Students and faculty of OLPH will be providing the breakfast, giving us a chance to focus on “service”, one of the main points of this year’s CSW theme, Catholic Schools: Faith, Academics, Service. After breakfast, we will attend mass together. Please join us there at 10:30am to support our school!

Congratulations to the winners of the Nash-Rocky Mount Reading Council Young Authors contest. Anna Tamisiea, Megan Lopez and Parker Haggerty, all from grade 3, are included in the local winners. Anna is also being recognized as a state level winner. Winning authors will be recognized at a celebration at the Braswell Library in March. Their work will also be included in the N-RM Young Authors book. Congratulations to the trio and to their teacher, Mr. Mike Brake. We are all very proud of you!

Please watch for the January edition of the OLPH electronic newsletter. This is a new and very well-received tool for additional communication between school and home. Please let us know how you like it.
