MONDAY, JAN. 29th

On Monday, January 29th, Councilman, W.D. Bulluck formally proclaimed Catholic Schools Week 2018 during our morning assembly in the Parish Hall.  Community service awards were presented and students participated in the "Peacemakers" fundraiser by contributing $2.00 to dress down for the day.  Peacemakers is a Christian community development organization serving the under-resourced area of South Rocky Mount in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.  Peacemakers believes wholeheartedly in the importance of collaboration, working with other community-based and faith-based organizations to further the impact of their outreach services. This follows the Sunday Mass kick off in which students and teachers served during church.  Afterward students participated in distributing packets for the school Angels & Saints Fund.

We are off to a great start and looking forward to the rest of the week!  Here are a few photos from Day 1.

Day 2 - Celebrating our Students

Today students got to come to school in their comfy clothes for our "Relax and get Comfy" day.

During Morning Assembly, students began the first day of the Ceremony for the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart and all sang a chorus of Immaculate Mary.  Each day the entire OLPH school community will participate in the Tridium of Prayers which concludes with with a special Mass ceremony on Friday.

In the afternoon, students were treated to a movie and popcorn and ending the day with an all time favorite... NO HOMEWORK tonight!!!  Below are a few photos from today's events.

In the late morning and afternoon, students in all grades attended various STEM and CODING classes.  The Middle School students participated in a Hour of Code with Minecraft while the elementary school students used various iPad coding and robotics apps.  It was a day full of fun and learning!  Here are a few photos of some of our activities.

Day 5 - Celebrate Students, Parents and Faculty

Today there were so many wonderful events celebrating our OLPH School family.  The day began with "Do-nuts at Drop-off."  Our 2nd graders made sure that all parents received a sweet treat and a warm "thank you" for sending their child to OLPH Catholic School.

After school Mass, students particpated in a special ceremony of the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Students processed to the school office for a special dedication from Fr. Meares and Deacon Kibbe.

Students enjoyed Pizza Lunch and the Book Fair.  At 1PM we all met in the church basement for the annual CSW Talent Show.  As always, we were so proud of all of the talented OLPH students... they ALL did a fantastic job!  Here are a few photos from our eventful day!
